New Year 2015 will be fondly remembered in The Angels memory – a beautifully, luxurious event with explosive entertainment and a very happy client.

Two weeks prior to the party, a big 18th for a very special boy, the marquee started to come to life in a beautifully landscaped garden in Jesmond, Newcastle. Although the weather was not on our side, dealing with rain, hail, and aggressive winds, the structure was soon in place encompassing the entire garden and waiting patiently for the party to arrive.

Bespoke draping started to be hung, its curves transforming the blank white structure into a luxurious cavern of rich reds and burnished browns, instantly creating a warmth and depth to the space with seating and food zones which the clients would soon be invited to explore. As crystal chandeliers were hoisted into place, the space began to twinkle and glitter as the Angels team got to work in the winter climate dressed in festive bobble hats, unloading multiple vans and taking deliveries of silky soft roses and orchid displays and an 8ft tall golden Buddha which would watch over the rest of the build.

New Year’s Eve soon arrived and the finishing touches were placed, gold and black votives were positioned on the mirrored fronted bar, fluid furniture was positioned around the seating areas and the reception area was filled with beautiful velvet sofas, creating an inviting space to welcome the lucky guests. Mirrors were hung and polished and candles were lit creating a beautiful calm glow.

As the reveal fell for the final time flanked by Buddha’s sat on pillows of cream roses, the ambient entertainment struck up and guests began to arrive. Soon the reception area was filled and the speeches started with a very proud father thanking the guests for their attendance and a 1m tall chocolate brioche cake was adorned with 18 candles as the guests sang Happy Birthday to the birthday boy. With a round of applause, the words ‘Let the party begin’ rang out across the room and the reveal was lifted to gasps of awe by the eager crowd.

As they ran to the rear of the marquee to be entertained by a trio of Ibiza artists, a DJ, saxophonist and bongo player, the dancing started and the champagne flowed. Soon it was time for our surprise guest to arrive, E4’s magician of the moment Troy. As he wowed the guests with spectacular tricks and sleight of hand, it was then time to open up the food stations of Gourmet Burgers, Seafood Bar and Sushi for the guests to dine on.

As 12 o’ Clock approached and the countdown began everyone raised their glasses and cheered ‘Happy New Year’ in unison. To the guests surprise a pyrotechnic display commenced, welcoming the New Year, met with screams of delight by the audience.

As the night went on the mood of the party amplified, you would’ve been forgiven for thinking that you were in fact in Ibiza, rather than Jesmond in Newcastle. 3am soon rolled around and guest left with huge smiles, exclaiming it was “the best New Year’s Eve Ever” – high praise indeed.

It is always a pleasure to work on such exciting and creative projects and with such fantastic clients, who become great friends.

We wish you all the best for 2016 – keep checking back to see what magic we’re creating next…..
